A gentleman was walking through an elephant camp, and he spotted that the  elephants weren’t being kept in cages or held by the use of chains.  All that was  holding them back from escaping the camp, was a small piece of rope tied to  one of their legs. As the man gazed upon the elephants, he was completely confused as to why  the elephants didn’t just use their strength to break the rope and escape the  camp. They could easily have done so, but instead, they didn’t try to at all. Curious and wanting to know the answer, he asked a trainer nearby why the  elephants were just standing there and never tried to escape. The trainer replied;  “when they are very young and much smaller  we use the same size rope to tie them and, at  that age, it’s enough to hold them. The Seasons of Life There was a man who had four sons. He wanted his sons to learn to not judge things too quickly. So he sent them each on a quest, in turn, to go and look at a pear tree that was a great distance away. The first son went in the winter, the second in the spring, the third in summer, and the youngest son in the fall. When they had all gone and come back, he called them together to describe what they had seen. The first son said that the tree was ugly, bent, and twisted. The second son said no – it was covered with green buds and full of promise. The third son disagreed, he said it was laden with blossoms that smelled so sweet and looked so beautiful, it was the most graceful thing he had ever seen. The last son disagreed with all of them; he said it was ripe and drooping with fruit, full of life and fulfillment. People visit a wise man complaining about the same problems over and over again. One day, he decided to tell them a joke and they all roared with laughter. After a few minutes, he told them the same joke and only a few of them smiled. Then he told the same joke for a third time, but no one laughed or smiled anymore. The wise man smiled and said: “You can’t laugh at the same joke over and over. So why are you always crying about the same problem?” Moral of the story: Worrying won’t solve your problems, it’ll just waste your time and energy . Mother Teresa’s Humility List  Speak as little as possible about yourself. Keep busy with your own affairs and not those of others. Accept small irritations with good humor. Do not dwell on the faults of others. Accept censures even if unmerited. Accept contempt, being forgotten and disregarded. Be courteous and delicate even when provoked by someone. An old man lived in the village. The whole village was tired of him; he was always gloomy, he constantly complained and was  always in a bad mood . The longer he lived, the viler he became and more poisonous were his words. People did their best to avoid him because his misfortune was contagious. He created the feeling of unhappiness in others. But one day, when he turned eighty, an incredible thing happened. Instantly everyone started hearing the rumor: “The old man is happy today, he doesn’t complain about anything,  smile s , and even his face is freshened up.” The whole village gathered around the man and asked him, “What happened to you?” The old man replied, “Nothing special.
