The story behind the carol, "I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day" -- Author unknown Tragedy struck the home of America's most popular poet.  On July 9, 1861, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow's wife, Fanny, was near an open window sealing locks of her daughter's hair in a packet, using hot sealing wax.  It was never known whether a spark from a match or the sealing wax was the cause, but suddenly her dress caught fire and engulfed her with flames.  Her husband, sleeping in the next room, was awakened by her screams.  He desperately tried to put out the fire and save his wife. He was severely burned on his face and hands. She, tragically burned, slipped into a coma the next day and died.  His grievous burns would not even allow him to attend her funeral.  He seemed to lock the anguish within his soul.  Because he continued to work at his craft, only his family knew of his personal suffering.  They could see it in his eyes and observe his ...

Christmas is for Love - Classic Tale Christmas is for love. It is for joy, for giving and sharing, for laughter, for reuniting with family and friends, for tinsel and brightly covered packages. But, mostly Christmas is for love. I had not believed this until a small elfin like pupil with wide innocent eyes and soft rosy cheeks gave me a wondrous gift one Christmas. Matthew was a 10 year old orphan who lived with his aunt, a bitter, middle aged woman greatly annoyed with the burden of caring for her dead sister's son. Christmas Thoughts  . . . . . . . . . . . . . .  It’s sharing your gifts, not purchasing gifts. It’s not wrapping presents, its being present and wrapping your arms around the ones you love. It’s not getting Christmas cards out on time, It’s sending any card, anytime, at the right time. Christmas Tree Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year which prompted CBS presenter, Steven Levy, to present this piece which I would like to share with you. This is one of the most amazing Christmas light displays I have ever seen.  It was in Cincinnati, displayed momentarily on the news. They had  to shut it down because it was causing traffic jam in the neighbor. This  person is a computer programmer for sure.

   Lets see if we can spread the true spirit of Christmas.  We have an excellent way of  reaching thousands through the internet.  Let  each of us do our part in letting people know Christ is the reason for Christmas.. Not adding sales up on cash registers for gifts bought, not replacing the word Christmas for Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays.  Let's insist on saying only Merry 'Christ'mas!     Christmas is not santa claus, not Rudolph, not replacing the beautiful Christmas Carols with senseless tunes that have taken their place.  How sad Jesus must be to hear.. Grandma got ran over by a reindeer!  Christmas is not for seeing how far we can go into debt trying to please loved ones, and certainly not for putting so much stress on ourselves, we break down, try suicide, or hate the thought of Christmas!  How must Jesus feel to know His birthday has taken on a commercial...

A TOUCHING CHRISTMAS STORY A couple was Christmas shopping at the mall on Christmas Eve and the mall was packed.   Walking through the mall the surprised wife look up and noticed her  husband was no where around and she was very upset because they had a lot to do.   She used her cell phone to call her husband because she was so upset, to ask him where he was.   The husband in a calm voice said, "honey remember the jewelry store we went into  5 years ago where you fell in love with that diamond necklace that we  could not afford and I told you that I would get it for you one day."   His wife said crying, "yes, I remember that jewelry store."   He said, "well I'm in the bar next to it."
