Bergen Peak Trail is a 10.3 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Evergreen, Colorado that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as difficult. It was not too bad, though. Here is me at the top.
Overall, this is a nice, casual hike near vibrant Evergreen. It took us about 2 hours to get to the top. Here is the beginning of the trail.
Check out the scenery!
Up at the peak now...we made it!
I am not sure what this is.
Somebody left this rock up here. It reads:
Hatred paralyzes life; love releases it. Hatred confuses life; love harmonizes it. Hatred darkens life; love illuminates it. - MLK, Jr.
This is a poem by Martin Luther King, Jr. We left it up there so go up there and check it out. Here are more MLK quotes.
Check out Mt. Evans...we will hit that one next!
Now, we descend down the mountain. We went the opposite way to keep it interesting.
The trail is nicely maintained. There are bathrooms at the trail head. The views are pretty good but there are no water features to look at. We saw a lot of mountain bikers and joggers. Overall, the trail is not very challenging. It is quiet but you can hear the road noise for a while.
