Fall in Love poem by Pedro Arrupe, SJ

Attributed to Pedro Arrupe, SJ   Nothing is more practical than finding God, than falling in Love in a quite absolute, final way. What you are in love with, what seizes your imagination, will affect everything. It will decide what will get you out of bed in the morning, what you do with your evenings, how you spend your weekends, what you read, whom you know, what breaks your heart, and what amazes you with joy and gratitude. Fall in Love, stay in love, and it will decide everything.

Run through the rain

A little girl had been shopping with her Mom in Walmart. She must have been 6 years old, this beautiful red haired, freckle faced image of innocence.           It was pouring outside. The kind of rain that gushes over  the top of rain gutters, so much in a hurry to hit the earth it has no  time to flow down the spout. We all stood there, under the awning, just  inside the door of the Walmart. We waited, some patiently, others irritated because nature messed up their hurried day.           I am always mesmerized by rainfall. I got lost in the sound  and sight of the heavens washing away the dirt and dust of the world.  Memories of running, splashing so carefree as a child came pouring in  as a welcome reprieve from the worries of my day.           Her little voice was so sweet as it broke the hypnotic  trance we were all caught in, 'Mom let's run through the rain,'           She said. 'What?' Mom asked.           'Let's run through the rain!' She repe

What you sew you reap!

What you sew you reap! If you plant honesty, you will reap trust. If you plant goodness, you will reap friends. If you plant humility, you will reap greatness. If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory. If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony. If you plant hard work, you will reap success. If you plant forgiveness, you will reap reconciliation. If you plant openness, you will reap intimacy. If you plant patience, you will reap improvements. If you plant faith, you will reap miracles. But… If you plant dishonesty, you will reap distrust. If you plant selfishness, you will reap loneliness. If you plant pride, you will reap destruction. If you plant envy, you will reap trouble. If you plant laziness, you will reap stagnation. If you plant bitterness, you will reap isolation. If you plant greed, you will reap loss. If you plant gossip, you will reap enemies. If you plant worries, you will reap wrinkles. If you plant sin, you will reap guilt. So be careful what
