Cincinnati Bengals: Ten Reasons Why Mike Brown Says He Won't Trade Carson Palmer

  1. Mike Brown is stubborn.
  2. Brown has invested millions in Carson Palmer and wants to get his money's worth.
  3. He doesn't want to set a precedent by allowing players to hold him hostage. Of course, most players haven't made nearly as much cash as Palmer.
  4. He believes that when you sign a contract you live up to it.
  5. Brown really likes Palmer and would hate to see him go.
  6. He has no confidence that he would make good choices with the draft picks he would receive in trade.
  7. He thinks Palmer is his chance at getting to the Super Bowl.
  8. Brown has offers but nothing close to what he considers to be a fair offer.
  9. He would trade but there are simply no takers for a broke down quarterback coming off a bad season.
  10. Brown will eventually trade Palmer but thinks his value will drop if everyone knows his intentions.
